Born Catania, May 13, 1957, Sciacca studied art in Palermo, Florence, Milan and London. He is also an academic professor, teaching at the Academy of Fine Art, Catania.
His first exhibition was at the International Exhibition of Modern Art, Glasgow in 1978 and later graduated with a thesis on Francis Bacon, whom he met and interviewed with the painter, Albert Burri; both artists were very supportive of the young Sciacca and saw his potential. Since then Sciacca has explored various styles of painting with particular emphasis on realism and surrealism, exhibiting extensively in Italy, Switzerland, Sicily, San Francisco, London and elsewhere. In 2013 he was invited to participate in the inaugural Biennale of Art in Palermo.
